Yes, it is a Makerbot. It's also adjusted somewhat cold, which results in the plastic forming round beads.

It can be adjusted for finer resolution and smoother surfaces, but those prints take a lot longer to make. This was a quick prototype - the guy only spent 90 minutes from receiving the .stl file via email to the finished product!
