Tesla's parents were Serbian. His country of birth was Croatia. Both countries claim him as their own. I visited the remains of Tesla's hydroelectric plant at Krka National Park, Skradinski Buk, Croatia. Breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls. This was the world's first operating hydroelectric plant. Although Niagara Falls was commissioned two days earlier than Krka, Krka was supplying electricity to the town of Sibenik the same evening, whereas Niagara supplied electricity to Buffalo 14 months later.
