Tesla's parents were Serbian. His country of birth was Croatia. Both countries 
claim him as their own.

I visited the remains of Tesla's hydroelectric plant at Krka National Park, 
Skradinski Buk, Croatia. Breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls. This was the 
world's first operating hydroelectric plant. Although Niagara Falls was 
commissioned two days earlier than Krka, Krka was supplying electricity to the 
town of Sibenik the same evening, whereas Niagara supplied electricity to 
Buffalo 14 months later.
