@Martin: regarding your question of longer life on higher anode voltage:
No, that's not what telefunken means. They wrote on behalf of multiplexing, 
in my opinion, a bit confusing.
In other words: at multiplexing with higher beam current, the effective 
current (like rms) is nearly the same as in using no multiplexing (with 
lower anode voltage).

And, yes that's one idea, which I've in min, to use 6 separate filament 
drivers for each tube.
I will try out multiplexing, too.
