Many of the non polar caps in my Neotek Series 1 are the audio coupling caps - I wouldn't know if this is the case in the Elan - but IMO they are the meat of the difference to be heard in a console recap. I've gotten as far as recapping the master section and a pair of input modules - the differences are real, although not as dramatic as doing the same to older gear
As for replacement of chips I agree with the previous post - although the qualitative differences can be worthwhile depending on your tastes.
