I believe you need to wire the insert send and return together. Then you need to add a 10k log pot as the output fader. I know some people like to destroy the pan pot and us it as the output fader but I think it is best to add a new pot and leave the pan pot alone. Use the direct out as your output.

Hope that helps,
Jared

Subject: Re: NEOTEK: Neotek Series 1 (not E) - Direct Out

Hello Tom,

thanks a lot for your Email.

I am a little bit confused with the schematics of the Series 1 Input Module.

Is it just necessay to connect Mic In and Direct Out in order to use it as a
Mic Preamp?

I have only the Input-modul to rack up (no console or patchbay).

Do I need to hardwire the Insert Send/Return in order to get a signal, or do I need to
put in a fixed resistor to replace Fader?

Regards,
Juergen

Betreff: RE: NEOTEK: Rackin Neotek Series 1 (not E) - Output Ideas?

Hello,

I have a Series 1 console (not E) and I use the direct outs with EQ  on each channel all the time. So, I believe all Series 1 modules 'Direct Outs' should contain the EQ signal as well. (I could be wrong though!) As far as balancing the outputs; I have wired the direct outs to my converters by connecting Cold and Neutral together and of course leaving Hot alone. I plan on eventually balancing the outs with transformers but this way is a quick way which usually works. At the very least, it is a good way to test to make sure everything is working.

Hope this helps!

Take care,
Tom

Subject: NEOTEK: Rackin Neotek Series 1 (not E) - Output Ideas?

Hello,

I am starting my racking Project with Series 1 Input Module.

Any better idea what to use for an Output but Echo Send C in Pre-Fader Mode?
As far as I understood the Direct Out doesn´t carry the EQ Signal - right?
Therefore had the idea to use the Post Echo Send to get an adjustable Output Trim.

Any advice welcome :-)

Regards,
Juergen

PS: Did anyone realize a balanced Output for this Unit?
