I'd also hope that as a result of Tenable's marketing efforts,
we could be point in future VA product evaluations. It's
definitely in our interests to make sure Nessus remains
popular, open and more importantly, relevant -- especially if
managers end up reading the article and get the wrong

If folks on the list hear of future VA product evaluations,

Speaking of marketing stuff. I'm sure it would be also useful to list awards given to Nessus. Is everyone aware that Nessus received the "best free software security tool" award by InfoSecurity Mag last march?
http://www.infosecuritymag.com/2002/mar/excellencewinners032002.shtml
and
http://www.infosecuritymag.com/awards2002/

There have been also other awards, a google search turns out
http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/apps/nessus/2001-q2/0218.html (http://www.nwc.com/1210/1210f111.html#vulnassess)

IMHO this should be up in the website, as well as links speaking of development around nessus or articles about it. See for example the article in SANS reading room that are related to nessus:
http://www.sans.org/search.php?config=sans&restrict=&exclude=&words=nessus&method=and&format=long&sort=score
(there are quite a lot of links...)

Such as:

- Pocket Nessus : http://www.sans.org/rr/tools/pocket_nessus.php
- Proactive Vulnerability assesment with Nessus: http://www.sans.org/rr/audit/proactive.php
- Nessus - Get on Board: http://www.sans.org/rr/audit/nessus2.php
- Vulnerability Assessment of a University Computing Environment: http://www.sans.org/rr/casestudies/univ_comp.php

So. Why not add this to www.nessus.org? A page listing: awards, who works with nessus and articles where nessus is featured could be a great resource and would improve Nessus perception for people which do not know about it and go to the website.
