Personally, when looking for a companion for nessus, I would pick ISS. It's a bit more windows oriented, has a good rep with more security folks, and is popular with windows security people. For me, in the DOE, we get it "free", so it's an obvious choice. We use it quite a bit in combination with nessus to get a good overview.

list, to sort out one of Nessus's contenders to find out an ideal companion.

I like to rely on more than a single tool at work when doing VAs, as probably
most do (and as is considered to be good practice anyway). I tend to focus
on Nessus for a number of reasons, but I've been looking at other products on
this purpose without really making my mind on which one would complement
Nessus best.

Assuming that this kind of reports won't help me or anyone else much, apart
from feeding our egos / angers (depending on how they rate Nessus) :-), I'd
like to know the opinion of the fellow listers on this topic.
