Thanks for the update, I got nessQuick working on my machine... works
great!!! yeah Randy you are very correct, the DBI, DBD::ODBC need to be
installed by running it through the PPM. I installed the 2 modules and got
that part right the first time but the resolution was strangely simpler
thank tht, i used "localhost" instead of the actual hostname and it
worked...

There is a problem with newer distributions of
ActivePerl and Perl Package Manager (PPM). Apparently
the DBI distribution isn't available via the PPM any
more. If you don't have this installed you'll have to
download, build, and install it manually.
Alternatively, go to www.mysql.com and do a search for
"perl dbi". There is a small distribution of perl
with these "pieces" integrated.
