Several times now I have tried to scan subnets on my company's network, but on a number of these occasions the client appears to lose its connection to the server. When this happens, the scan appears to hang for an extremely long time. After 15-30 minutes of no movement I shut the complete scan down and as soon as I do, I see a message saying the client is disconnected. I have checked with the server group and the network operations group at my company and neither of them see any reason for this to happen. I have scanned successfully in the past without any trouble, but that was before I upgraded my PC. In addition, I am having some successes, but only about 50% of the time. A few other points to mention: When this disconnect happens, I cannot get the client to reconnect without restarting Linux. Also, the subnet I am having particular trouble scanning has several network printers on
it. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
