heres is the contents of nessusd.messages
launching ping_host.nasl against (ip address)
process 10790 finished its job in 3,398 seconds
launching labrea.nasl against ip address
the remote host (ip address) is dead
finished testing ip address Time: 4.03 seconds
PLEASE HELP
any ideas would be appreciated.

How are you specifying the targets? I've seen this type of
behaviour when you specify a non-existent hostname.
nessusd.messages will have very little; eg,
[Wed Apr 13 23:53:33 2005][1735] user me starts a new scan.
Target(s) : sdfg.example.com, with max_hosts = 1 and
max_checks = 5
[Wed Apr 13 23:53:33 2005][1735] user me : Kept alive
connection
[Thu Apr 14 00:00:06 2005][1735] Communication closed by
client

Running "nessusd -s | grep logfile" will tell you; it's set
in nessusd.conf.
