That would certainly be a useful option.
I wouldn't want to lose the possibility of building things into
a monolithic agent, though.   The more separate parts there are,
the more chance of things going wrong.

What I'd like to see is a separation (or partial separation) of
the MIB module configuration, from the configuration of the
overall package.  If I want to add a new MIB module to the agent,
it shouldn't be necessary to recompile the library as well!


But I can't help feeling we're getting a bit sidetracked.
I suspect that Thomas was asking for guidance on what should
be done in the immediate future, rather than more significant
(and probably longer-term) design changes.

Currently, we seem to have votes for:
