I notice that we're now cut a new 5.2.2.rc4 tarball.
I presume that means that someone has addressed the
issue of snmpnetstat with this release?
(Since I suggested there was no point in issuing
a new release candidate prematurely!)
Could someone please bring me up to speed as to the
state of play with the 5.2.2 line?
AFAIK 5.2.2.rc4 has seen two changes compared to rc3:
- embedded perl support has been repaired
- snmpnetstat has been pulled (completely)
See below for why I think this was the right decision.
Also, a summary of outstanding problems with the
5.3 snmpnetstat would be useful too.
(Yes, Alex - I've spotted your list of issues
with Windows, and will look at them today).
There are build issues wrt. snmpnetstat on most *nix platforms (e.g. all
SVR4-centric ones) also! Robert has disabled snmpnetstat for the nightly
build tests until this is resolved. I'd suggest to join IRC to discuss
the details.
