Oh, I agree.
Hardwiring the conflict check into the configure script was only
ever intended as a stop-gap measure, until someone came up with
a better approach.
     It worked, too :-)

I've no objections to *how* Robert has improved the initial
conflict checks - it's the *where* that I have issues with.

That sounds good to me.
I'll look at doing something of the sort tomorrow.

And porting the snmpnetstat rewrite to the 5.2.x line

And playing with my new laptop (which arrived yesterday)

And doing whatever it is that my University paymasters(?)
may demand of me

I wonder how I'll manage to fill the afternoon.....
