A release - yes.
An immediate release - no.

If nothing else, I'd like to see a little more live
testing of the 5.2.2 rewrite.

Good.

If we're going to make a release, it might as well
be as complete as we can sensibly make it.  There's
no point in excluding fixes for no good reason.
   My characteristic obstinacy is more concerned with
balancing bug fixes against a desire for stability,
rather than any particular preference for buggy code :-)
