Looks like we've agreed "in principle", but we still have to decide the little details (like what *exactly* should be kept in "dist" for the source distribution) and make the corresponding changes, ideally before 5.3.pre5.

Initial proposal for the content of "dist" in the source tarball:
net-snmp.spec, snmpd-init.d, snmptrapd-init.d, README (to be written).

Also, I'm still open for comments on "win32/dist" which we also ship with the source. It looks odd (to me) to clean up "dist" and still ship "win32/dist" as-is.
