In general, unless you *know* that you need to set the engineID
explicitly, then you probably don't (and shouldn't bother).

Ummm.. not sure, without checking the code.

My gut reaction is probably to use "engineID" in the
normal snmpd.conf file (to force a particular engineID
every time),  or tweak the "oldEngineId" entry in the
persistent snmpd.conf (which is how this value is
normally passed from one invocation to the next).

But that's very much a guess - such it and see.
Or simply don't bother at all.  Your choice.
