Ummm... Maybe I'm missing something here. That problem with internal queries over a delegated session is an important one, I'd agree. That's what we should be concentrating on, IMO - not duplicating existing functionality. I started to have a look at this a while ago, but got bogged down very quickly (and then work got in the way). But I'm unconvinced that having a new MIB implementation is of much real value.
