Thanks Dave, for the promp reply.

Will definitely share the fix once available.

Please do suggest on this last Question:
Do we have snmp v3 trap supported in this version?
The reason being we have two open defects which are as follows :
1)SNMP v3 user configured with AES privacy , when queried with DES results in
expected error. But the moment we configure a v3 host using that user, the
behaviour gets reversed and problems faced are :
a) Starts giving MIB output with DES privacy, eventhough the user is configured
with AES.
b) Starts incrementing the usmStatsDecryptionErrors counter which it should
not, as the query is done with right privacy parameter, infact it should give
MIB output with that.

2)snmpagent reintialises when a user is qeried with higher security level i.e
when a user configured with lower security level say authNoPriv is queried with
authPriv with the presence of v3 host the query times out resulting in
snmpagent crashing and reinitialising.
Effects :
---------
a) All the USM counters gets cleared to 0.
b) All the timing related objects in snmp (sysUpTime,
ifLastChange,ipAddressCreated, entConfigLastChange etc) get reinitialised and
start reporting 0 as the snmpagent crashes.

and the root cause analysis by the DE for both of these is as below:
Root Cause:
----------
The current version of Net-Snmp dose not support V3 traps completly, hence
there are few issues with the net-snmp code, it is confirmed by the forum, this
issue is one of them.
Fix:
----
Temporary fix is to block snmp v3 trap configuration till the patches/fixes are
available from Net-Snmp.

Please share your helpful opinion as before.

Thanks,
Mayank

No.
Nobody has submitted anything to address this issue
since the discussion earlier this year.

If you need this functionality, then my suggestion would be that you
attempt to implement it yourself (or employ someone to do this for you).

It would be most welcome if you could then feed back the necessary
changes so that they could be included in future releases.
(But there is no obligation on you to do so).
