RS> Unless you really need an IETF standard MIB to proceed, Should I have the need? ;-)
I initially mentioned the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB because the extensions I have in mind seem to fit into it quiet well (at least from the/my technical point of view). "My needs" are to have the extensions in the standard release. Where in there does not really matter to me ... - or could it be that certain installations of Net-SNMP *exclude* certain MIBs? AK> Which approaches could I take to have the offical Net-SNMP release be AK> able to provide more process related information? Anyhow, what I had in mind when posting/talking about "more process related informatation" were such info one could find under the /proc/<pid> tree in certain *X OSes. More on this could be found under http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procfs . The process related info is only a small part of what could be pulled from there. To access this data also a library exists to abstract certain differences of /proc-implementations: http://procps.sourceforge.net/ My experience is limited to using this on Linux. To come to the possible ways of implementing extension. I have to admin, that I had not had the time yet to investigate, which one of those proposed, I'd preferr to choose.
