One relatively self-contained feature that should be reasonably straightforward to implement would be to extend the "forward" mechanism of snmptrapd.conf, in order to accept version/community/authentication information. At the moment, traps are forwarded using the same version/credentials taken from the incoming trap - it would be very useful to be able to specify these in the config file, and hence forward traps using a different version and/or credentials. At heart, this would essentially be merging in the behaviour of the 'trapsess' directive. (See Feature Request #164) Does that sound the sort of thing you were looking for?
