Thanks for your mail. I don't understand what  your point is exactly. What's 
your idea ? Do you mean the configure has been changed
(or patched) to better handle this option ?

You might want to try the current V5-7-patches branch from git (or a
nightly tar ball fromhttp://www.net-snmp.org/nightly/tarballs/

The configure checks in this version is much more thorough in
determining whether this option is usable.
