Currently not implemented, though, AFAICS. CRC> CRC> CRC> When you say "only _saved_ on shutdown", are you saying that if I write a CRC> createUser directive to /var/net-snmp/snmpd.c
I assume you mean snmpd.conf CRC> and hit the re-read config bit that the user will be created but the CRC> usmUser won't be written until the next shutdown? That's not what I'm CRC> seeing. The new user doesn't seem to be active until I restart. I'm surprised the new user is still there on restart. I would expect that the existing conf would overwrite the file on shutdown, nuking the user you added. CRC> If re-writing the persistent file is deemed useful, I might do it and send CRC> a patch. Can anyone say how likely that patch would be to be accepted? Well, I'd have to imagine that there are good reasons that it hasn't been done til now. If the reason is simply that nobody's done it til now, the patch would very likely be accepted. If there are other, more complex issues, then the patch would have to address them. -- Robert Story; NET-SNMP Junkie <http://www.net-snmp.org/> <irc://irc.freenode.net/#net-snmp> Archive: <http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum=net-snmp-users> You are lost in a twisty maze of little standards, all different. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE.
