You are confusing these two terms (and then some, really, as even an obsolete object can be implemented in places). > Another > machine has net-snmp 5.2.1. Or, more likely, this functionality works on some machines and not on others, and is not being fixed because it is a deprecated object. > Is this OID really deprecated? Should we simply not use this OID? You should use the replacement monitoring strategy if possible. If not, the deprecated object may be able to provide what you need. If neither works, you should complain about the non-deprecated object. ----- ----- I'm aware of the difference between deprecated and obsolete. The fact is that the UCD-SNMP-MIB files says these were replaced by the "raw" values. If it is a replacement, then the replaced OID (deprecated or obsolete) should not be used. Further it seems that newer versions have started using it gain, which does not make sense. Unfortunately we have no choice which OID to monitor. We have to use SolarWinds and they continue to use the deprecated OID. -- Diese E-Mail enthält vertrauliche und/oder rechtlich geschützte Informationen.
