Hi,

I like to know or someone knows how to configure the processes and logs
(UCD-SNMP) section to send an trap to an monitoring machine. I can see
an error occuring (on this proces) when I do an snmpwalk.

This is all I confiigured concening processes in my configuration file:

proc "java" 10 1

proc "snmpdx" 1 1

defaultMonitors yes

linkUpDownNotifications yes

trap2sink naos

According the man page, this should be enough to let the agent monitor
the logfile / processes when it goes beyond or above an threshold:

The defaultMonitors directive above is equivalent to a series of
(boolean) monitor entries:

monitor

-o prNames -o prErrMessage "procTable" prErrorFlag != 0

monitor

-o memErrorName -o memSwapErrorMsg "memory" memSwapError != 0

monitor

-o extNames -o extOutput "extTable" extResult != 0

monitor

-o dskPath -o dskErrorMsg "dskTable" dskErrorFlag != 0

monitor

-o laNames -o laErrMessage "laTable" laErrorFlag != 0

monitor

-o fileName -o fileErrorMsg "fileTable" fileErrorFlag != 0

and will send a trap whenever any of these entries indicate a problem.

Somehow nothing appears when I kill the java process or put it back
online. The only trap I receive is when I restart the agent. Otherwise
nothing on port 162 will be sent. I am using the net-snmp agent supplied
with solaris 10.

Regards,

Mario Jansen
