As long as it is internal stuff, you can do it without talking with IANA. Requesting an enterprise OID is all about avoiding collisions with other enterprises.
I have seen bugs where an enterprise was collapsing the enterprise tree itself in an officially released product. The product was working, it is just it was not legit and it was preventing some other product to work properly. So, as long as it is internal and not colliding with other products you use internally, it should work. I do not recommend to do so in the event you propagate a bug when releasing the product. Using an arbitrary enterprise number (unallocated yet) would enable you to write your MIB and when receiving your official enterprise MIB number you only have to change that number in your MIB to become legit. There is also a development subtree I don't have the OID at hand since I am writing from a mobile device, you can check for it as well as suggested previously. Daniel Savard CiDS Inc.
