Where, when does exactly the DES encryption / decryption key (64 octets) take 
part during the encryption /decryption process, because aparently both 
processes are based only in the initialization vector ?
As you might know, according the RFC3414, from the DES localized key of 16 
octets, the first 8 are used as DES encryption / decryption key (this is the 
only mention of this key in the document); and the final 8 are used as pre - 
initialization vector (pre IV) . The final initialization vector (8 octets) is 
obtained from operations made in the pre  IV using the snmpEngineBoots of 4 
octets and an arbitrary 4 octets value initialized at boot time.
Please someone can help me explaining when is exactly the DES key used during 
the encryption and decryption of the messages?
