Hi all, Just been catching up on various things. Some great entries form Helen Varley Jamieson on the Furtherfield Blog http://blog.furtherfield.org - and thought that some of you may be interesting in reading it...
Helen discusses her experience in taking part in the floss manuals sprint (http://flossmanuals.net/), "...developing a manual for CiviCRM - http://civicrm.org/ (which is something that i use with the magdalena aoteroa - http://magdalenaaotearoa.org.nz/ site). in this sprint, a group of about 15 people met somewhere in the USA to create a manual for CiviCRM, and a few more of us were online, doing things like copy-editing the content. most of the time there were people active in the IRC channel, chatting about the project and about other things going on around them, so that i could get a sense of their environment, time zone and the commeraderie generated by the intense process." Helen. sprint as process http://blog.furtherfield.org/?q=node/335 midway in the sprint http://blog.furtherfield.org/?q=node/336 last day of the sprint http://blog.furtherfield.org/?q=node/337 ------> I have been following the progress of floss manuals for a little while now, and at Transmediale10, went to a presentation which was held by Adam Hyde and peer group members at the festival, and found the project inspiring. Their themes, interests and motivations come from a similar context and place as furtherfield's. I was actually keen in taking part in the recent sprint myself, but unfortunately, just had no time at all to get involved. wishing all well. marc _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
