Liu was the Chair of The University of California Santa Barbara's English Department when I was a Visiting Scholar there.Thus, I know that his vision is more complex than it seems on the book's surface. Although I don't agree with much that he has to say, I think it's important know what he is saying, especially when it comes to the digital humanities.

Being the second time that I've noticed this book has being referenced on this list, I have to say that trying to make the concept of cool fit into corporatism just didn't work for me.
