What :-(? Recently installed debian and it did not have default systemd.
May be this is very recent development.
It's getting scary out there in the Linux world.
Mayuresh.
systemd is default init in jessie (next stable) and is particulary
bugged. SysV or BSD inits are better but for ununderstood reasons,
debian (and a lot of other distributions) now use systemd.
Better is such a subjective word.
The reason I'm uncomfortable with systemd is because I feel that it
lacks design and makes it harder to debug and understand what is going
on. I also feel that a lot of the recent "Linux features" lack decent
documentation. You might get "what" from the documentation, but "how"
and "why" is something you have to do a whole lot of digging to grasp
One of the reasons I really like *BSD is because of the great
documentation..
Also, I'm a little concerned about the big push for systemd. It feels
like somebody has an agenda, but who and why is not apparent.
