I didnt get the recent version ('recent' - this might be almost a year
ago I tried) working.

        I use seamonkey for very long time on Linux or xBSD.

Did you compile it or do you have the binaries? Was it a long time ago
you installed Seamonkey?

        From pkgsrc as I follow sparc64-current.

I use to have the Seamonkey browser too, but after some update it did
not compile and I never got it working again. And then it even
disappeared from the packages...

        pkgsrc is your friend ;-)
