Yes!  Can we put this at https://netbeans.apache.org/nb/9.0/updates.xml.gz ?

As per discussion around issues link, I was suggesting getting everything
inbound from the IDE under a common base path (eg /nb at the moment, but
this can change).  Gives us a bit more flexibility around routing /
redirecting, etc. later.

Also, IMO https should not be optional.
