Hi,

Lets face it, unless there is some unforseen catastrophe, I'll be
buying Netconnect 3 when its done. But that doesn't stop me from
suggesting improvements.. :)

On several occasions, my computer has crashed while I'm online. This
is not neccesarily due to any of the NC software, but is kinda
inevitable that its going to happen every so often.
When I reboot, the modem is still connected to my ISP, but of course
there's nothing I can do about it. I have to manually switch off the
modem to get it to drop the line, then redial my ISP, renegotiate the
connection etc etc.

Would it be possible for Genesis to store its "last used connect"
config. when it connects, then have an option to attempt reconnect to
an already existing call. Obviously, some identity checking may need
to be done at this point. I've not a clue if this is even technically
possible, but it would be dead handy.

To take the idea further, it'd be great if stuff in-progress, like
downloads or IRC sessions could be resumed where you left off, but I
guess that is getting into the realms of fantasy?

Since this ML seems to have the privilege of Olli's personal attention
at the moment, I'll repeat an idea I had for Voyager several weeks
ago, which seemed to disappear into a black hole...

I think (and others are free to disagree, of course) that its often
the case that on "reloading" a web page, all you're after is some
minor change in the text (ie: html) content. Would it be possible to
include a reload button which only reloaded the html? Any images
associated that page are pulled from the cache (if possible) and only
downloaded if they're not cached (ie: a new image). The only times
this would mess up a page is if the page owner had updated a graphic
without changing its name. In that case, you simply press the
"normal" reload button which would reload all page contents like it
does now.

Anyway, comments anyone?...

Regards

Ian
