The main thing is to avoid having any unnecessary ports open to the
outside world. Opening TCP:123 is an example of doing this
deliberately, but running a web or FTP server also provides access to
your machine. If you don't need to provide such access, don't set up a
server. If you do need it, use the Access section of Genesis to
ensure only those you wish to use it have access.
How much interest would there be in a magazine article on making your
machine secure?
