If NC3 wont be available on disk I expect one of the reasons is to
lower costs.  Active keep saying they make little profit on sales of
NC2 so if dropping disks helps their situation then this is better for
everyone.  

Plus no one (except us Amiga users) seem to use DD disks anymore which
means not as many people are producing them, or if they are they are
likely to be more expensive now than when everyone used them.

CDROM drives arent exactly expensive now so you may as well get one. 
Most Amiga software being released now is getting too big for floppy
disks so by getting a CDROM drive you will be able to use much more
software in future.  A double speed mechanism would do the job if you
dont intend to use the drive much and they can be bought for
practically nothing now.  

Plus if people buy a CDROM drive, Amiga Format can finally stop
producing the disk edition of their magazine and add those extra 4
pages ;)
