AFAIK, MD2 will only do this if no TCP/IP stack is running. Once you
run Genesis, if you are not online your "Send" button should instead
be a "Queue" button which will not attempt to send the mail.
If you do go on or offline during writing the mail, the button will
not change its text, but it will function as if it had. I know no way
of preventing MD2 from trying to send the mail once you are online
though, unless you choose to temporarily "Store" it, but you'll have
to go through and send each one manually later if you do that.
