It worked this way. In registering online with Force 9, I tried a large
number of possible subdomain names. Everything seemed to have already
gone. Eventually in frustration, I stuck a two on my first choice and
left it. I thought up a suitable name later and contacted Force9 who
promised that in a few days they would change it. That was over a
year ago. As it will seem very likely that I'll get my own domain name
in the near future, I'll leave it. Freeserve seems to be offering the
best deal on web space and domain name, unless someone here knows
differently...
