That's what it's for.

Any message in the SPOOL folder can be edited, you either highlight
the message and from the Message menu, select Edit,  or you read the
message and again select Edit from the Message menu.

If you have already sent the message MD will tell you that the message
has already been sent and give you the option to edit and resend or
cancel.  If you haven't sent it you just continue editing as normal.

Store is different to queue in that a message that is "stored" will
not be sent when you select send queued messages, queue on the other
hand will send the message when you're next online.
