There's little point in using 24 bit modes. They are a lot slower than
16 bit modes, use twice as much card memory and can significantly slow
down screen switching. 16 bit is fine for web browsing. MD should be
happy with 8 bit unless you display a lot of inline images. X-Arc
doesn't need its own screen but should be set to open on the frontmost
screen. That way any application opening it gets it on the same screen.
