Possibly fixed by upgrading the internal software. There are packages on
Aminet to do this for Pace and Dynalink and possibly others.

I've found that linedrops vary between ISPs.

One ISP advised me to ask BT to "increase the gain" on my line. I think this
helped with speed.

When I was with enterprise, there were linedrops  three in the morning!
