Because I'm permanently connected to my LAN. My dial-up connection is
made via a separate server, so my Amiga going on/offline has nothing
to do with my Internet connection, and if I connect to the LAN while
the Internet connection is down Genesis doesn't time sync. So I would
have to connect to the server to remote control it, dial in,
disconnect from the server, then disconnect and reconnect Genesis.
Just to set the time? Hitting a button that says "Sync Time" /is/
easier. If I had a modem connection on the Amiga, Genesis's function
would be perfect. On my system, I'm 'Auto Online' for as long as the
Amiga is running (24/7 mostly), so it could be more than a week in
between resyncing, if the Amiga runs that long in a single session.
70 hours+ just now...
