There are so many incorrect issues in such as small 'statement' (that I
overlooked originally).
1. AmiTCP 4 is absolutely and utterly dead. AmiTCP 4 was *replaced* by Genesis
in 1997, both agreed by NSDi and Active Technologies. Indeed, the kernel
supplied with Genesis is a few revisions newer than the (now defunct) AmiTCP 4
kernel.
2. You cannot buy/register nor gain any support for AmiTCP 4, as it is
discontinued. Indeed, AmiTCP 4 was (or should have been) removed from the Aminet
due to point 1).
3. Genesis is *not* a 'front end to AmiTCP'. We re-wrote a number of AmiTCP
components and *integrated* them within Genesis - for instance, the old AmiTCP 4
based AREXX dialer interface was completely re-written in C and integrated into
Genesis. The Genesis dialer is the replacement for this.
The usergroup and password issues were moved to 'genesis.library' and, thus,
other programs (Microdot-II, Contact Manager etc) were able to support this new
multiple user support.
To enable to do these revisions, on such as low level, NSDi supplied us with the
AmiTCP 4 source code, which is another reason why Genesis is simply not a 'front
end' to AmiTCP 4.
Personally I don't know how you could have written so many incorrect statements
within a few lines. I am certainly not happy.
Chris.
