This has been simmering off topic for while.
There has been lots of Redhotant criticism here.
It is remarkable that a small provider should be plucky enough to offer the
service, and stick with it when larger businesses have wriggled out or
dropped similar plans.
Often i get on first time, sometimes within three tries, infrequently with a
lot of tries (I can hear the modem connect from the next room and return
when it squeels).
The objective was to reduce the phone bill and it has, surprisingly, the
monthly phone bill for internet is less than what I was paying my isp.
It has changed the way I use the net turning click and grab into surfing.
When there is a long wait or I'm in a hurry and it is engaged after a few
tries, i switch to onetel.co.uk who are 1p a minute.
Incoming mail can be picked up remotly, outgoing can be sent by temporaily
changing the smtp address.
The level of annoyance here is surprising, possibly those with problems try
to comnect only at the most busy times or there are regional differences in
availability.
