You're welcome, I am glad to help.

That is the beauty of ND5: you can use your ND3/4 CSpider classes in ND5,
and you can use the same ND5 to gradually convert your projects to J2EE.
As Curt Springer pointed out, some projects will be easy to do as plain
Java Beans, some will be easier as Enterprise Java Beans, some as JSP,
and so forth. You will have lots of time to migrate, and the upcoming
migration guides will help you and give you some tools as well.
> Does iplanet support CSpider classes?
The iPlanet App Server will not natively support CSpider classes.
There has been talk of a "compatibility layer", though in my opinion
it would be much easier just to continue running ND5 and then run
iPlanet alongside for your new projects. Sun has guaranteed that ND5
and iPlanet will run happily on the same machine, and we already have
this working successfully in our tests, so you'll be in fine shape.
> When is iplanet scheduled to release?
Next year, and our product marketing folks will be posting a more exact
date as soon as they decide on the full feature list, quality cycles, etc.

Those folks probably don't know about ND5 and J2EE. If you are a brand new
customer, you could buy either and develop in J2EE and be fine for iPlanet.
I personally prefer ND5 because it has a development studio, and because
it is easier for people to download, install, configure, and maintain.
Out of curiousity, has anyone here actually tried to get NAS running?
Cheers,
Joel
