One of the reasons that "they" wont listen is the frightening thought 
that you dont have to "belong" to be heard or be "present" to 
participate. The internet and FLOSS is tearing down the control 
barriers. And the controllers dont like it one bit.

Consequently legslation (like making copyright violations a crime) get 
passed. And schemes like the UID and CCTV everywhere are sanctioned.
   
Much as i like the romance and idealism of the lone ranger, I am 
afraid without an organisation we are going nowhere - atleast in the 
near future.

As of now I have yet to see influential individuals even being aware 
of the new serfdom being prepared for them, while they grapple with 
brick n mortar development issues.
