I dont think there is just one company in India representing open source but the problem is most of the companies working in open source domain are hybrids. They are in open source because it sells in the market. Even the companies which shout to be the best open source companies from India work on .NET and have properitory code base. For them open source means something you can pick from internet and rebrand with there logo to sell to customer. I have seen instances where a famous sold RT as there ticketing solution only change they made was the header to change the name from RT to there own name... Another problem is what will be the definition of open source company ? Will you count hosting providers who linux based hosting (along with M$ solution) as open source company? Will you count those numerous Drupal shops as open source companies who never bother to contribute a single line of code ? Will you count companies which sponsors open source events around the country, even have a community manager but sell completely closed source products too ? So who do you choose who needs to be represented ? regards Vivek -- The hidden harmony is better than the obvious!! _______________________________________________ network mailing list [email protected] http://lists.fosscom.in/listinfo.cgi/network-fosscom.in
