My son is in Class III of a fairly well known school in Delhi. His Computer
Science textbook ('KEYBOARD - Computer Science with Application Software",
Sangeeta Panchal & Alka Sabharwal, OUP) begins and ends with Microsoft
Windows ("When you switch on the computer, the Windows operating system gets
loaded into the computer memory automatically. While loading, the picture of
the Windows flag will appear on the screen." They've a nice screen shot of
Windows XP up there).

The text book is an extended advert for Windows, and I am sure this
continues all the way to Class X.

Before we start "improving awareness about FOSS in Universities" and
institutions of higher learning, how about our schools and primary classes?
That's where the rot begins. Our kids grow up believing that Windows is the
default OS and everything else is either an aberration or a heresy.
