Microsoft did the same with UP State Technical University, Lucknow

Fortunately, the effort died, thanks to the 'SARKARI' way of dealing
with such pacts in colleges :)

I got a chance to FOSSify the CS and IT final year syllabus in UPTU
and I did that as an encounter of non-free software by some crime
branch. The entire non-FOSS was eliminated in a day and formal
approval of VC made it a history.

UPTU has 100% FOSS based final year CS and IT syllabus since 2007.

We dont have much formal FOSS business organizations at least in North
India. Once a FOSS business ecosystem comes in being, it can nurture
education sector equally well.
