Usually, I don't, and as you can see, I haven't now, in response to your
pointing this out. However, if you are familiar with the working of Android
devices, you will know that not doing so is quite difficult, in some
impossible (mostly smartphones), as is the case with RIM phones. I don't
know about M$ phones or other smartphones.

I haven't seen any discussion here, and more importantly, little action
from the FOSS community, to amend this situation. Normally, etiquette is a
social contract, the fulfilment of which needs social participation. Does
the FOSS community purpose boycotting smartphones, or does it eschew the
use of smartphones for participation in FOSS discussions? Or should we
insist on adding disclaimers about the device being used for such
participation, in order to excuse one's 'rude' behaviour?

As you can tell, I'm still a little curious (although I'm heartened to
learn that the definition of literacy adopted in India has indeed been
formally upgraded. What next, the sense of humour?).
