Nah.  Look at Boston's big dig.  There's never enough tunneling. ;-)


But on a more serious note, why wouldn't GRE be a follow on project to the IP tunnelling project?

It could be follow-on work. Because Clearview's focus is on making existing Solaris interfaces self-consistent and interoperable, new protocols is outside the scope of that particular project. GRE, to me, would be a separate project that builds upon the infrastructure that we introduce with Clearview.

dladm create-iptun -T gre ...

Yes! That was one of the questions Jim brought up during the Clearview design review, and that's generally the direction in which we'd go to introduce new types of tunneling over IP.
